George B. Ward's practice areas include Commercial and General Litigation, Administrative Law, Insurance and Insurance Regulatory Law, and Employment Law.   Mr. Ward was born and raised in Austin, Texas.  He earned his Bachelor’s Degree fromRice University in 2001, and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 2004.   After receiving his license to practice law in November of 2004, Mr. Ward began practicing in the Litigation Section of the Texas Attorney General’s Office.  As an Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Ward conducted numerousjury trials regarding complex constitutional issues in federal and state court.  In addition to gaining extensive litigation experience, Mr. Ward served as the legislative liaison for his division, monitoring and analyzing proposed legislation.  After three years with the Attorney General's office, Mr. Ward entered private practice in Austin with Shannon Gracey Ratliff and Miller, where he handled a wide range of litigation-intensive cases relating to commercial and individual disputes, insurance matters, and construction. Mr. Ward joined the law firm of De Leon & Washburn, P.C., in January of 2010.      

Mr. Ward is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, andWestern Districts of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is a member of the Austin Young Chamber of Commerce, the Cosmopolitan Rotary Club, Austin Young Lawyers Association, and theAmerican Bar Association.
